]]>Tomorrow (the 20th) is my birthday and on Friday my great friends Sam and Sarah sent me gorgeous flowers to work. Sarah has an amazing since of style and a committmenet ot excellence so she did not just call 1-800 flowers and let them work it out - oh no! She called Sawyer and Company here in Maine and chatted with them about what she wanted to send and they did a perfect job!! They were a wonderful surprise in the middle of the day and once again Sarah was a genius!
I got alot of talk about the picture I posted of my work friend.. mainly because she is also my friend outside of work and she felt the title inappropriate! I think this is because we had been friends long before I can to work for the same company she does... so I am reposting a new pictures!
Sometimes people are brought into your lives at just the right time. I am a bit of a mess at work lately and somehow Erin always knows the right thing to say. The other day after an email to her where I admitted to being a mess she replied "You're perfect. Feelings are complex" and I can't tell you how much better I felt. I don't think 5 words have ever had such an impact on me in terms of just making me feel better - so here is to my FRIEND!
today I launched my brand survey - i put together a couple of designs and then sent out a survey to 10 people who would be my typical client and have asked for feedback. Ideally I want to launch in the last quarter of this year but I might have to get some stuff up early.

Yesterday Tanisha and Erica came up for a couple of hours of shooting as I build my portfolio and attempt to figure things out and learn. There were some AMAZING shots, when your models are gorgeous to begin with it makes it alot easier. If I don't have a meltdown about storage this afternoon you will find me in post-production on the photos and posting them later. But for now here are three quick ones:
I took some pictures of Alison yesterday while we were waiting for the babies to get there. I shot off a quick set of her and then some with her Kitty - I picked the best five and posted them on flickr here
this has been a chilly couple of days. The furnace has been on the fritz since the weekend and finally went kaput in the middle of last night. I could see my breath this morning when I woke up and then it took until 6PM to get a new furnace. I don't want to talk about how much that cost because spending thousands of dollars makes me nervous. The furnace came online at 6PM this evening but by then the house was too cold. Its gonna take all night to get it warm again - right now its 50 in here.

today is a big day - and not just because it snowed 4 inches of beautiful snow (pictures from that later!) but today I am getting to do somethings to build my portfolio. Erica is coming up and letting me take a series of pictures of her and we are going to spend the afternoon decorating cakes! Erica would like us to get into the cake decorating business and I am not sure I have the actual talent for that but we are going to find out. The first cake erica made was my birthday cake several weeks ago shown here:
I was going to create a new header for each month - like the one I created for January - but I am a bit behind. I had a couple of photo events this week and alot of post production so it kept me from getting a new header completed... but maybe today! I got one done for my friend Alison so that worked out and mine should be done today.. in the meantime check out this picture I took yesterday for one of the guys at work.. i think its got too much portrait blur to it.
