Matt and I are going to celebrate our 4 month anniversary tomorrow (is that it?? it seems longer:) And since he had the day off yesterday he took it upon himself to give me my gift early!
So traditional gifts for 4 year/month is Flowers or Fruit - he gave me fruit!! He gave me 2 pear trees for the farm we are building:) Now I have to admit it took me about 30 minutes to get the full extent of the gift. When I got home last night I saw the trees and when I went up to them I saw this hanging in the tree...
and as I said it was some time later when it dawned on me - he gave me a Partridge in a pear tree! I love you Matty - you are perfect and your gifts are great! I can't wait to walk around the back 40 and decide where we are going to plant these - they are a perfect pear just like us:)
Stay tuned tomorrow for what I am giving him :)
I wanted some giant muffin tins for this WW recipe that I have. Yesterday when Joce and I were out shopping I picked up a tin for $5 at Marshall - non stick.
Today I opened up my cubby at work and found these:
last night we made the long cold trek to the post office after work so Matt could get his mail! he got a package and I figure it was Pottery - the man has an obsession with Blue Hills Pottery But when we got home he let me open it and it was more toys for me!!!!!!! He was busy doing somethign so I unpacked them all and quickly took their picture! There are toys in here from the Animaniacs!!
From wikipedia:
The comedy of Animaniacs was a broad mix of old-fashioned wit, slapstick, pop culture references, and cartoon violence and wackiness. The show featured a number of educational segments that covered subjects such as history, math, geography, science, and social studies. Animaniacs itself was a variety show, with short skits featuring a large cast of characters. While the show had no set format, episode structure varied to suit the needs of the segments included; the majority of episodes were composed of three short mini-episodes, each starring a different set of characters, and bridging segments.
So technically Pinky and the Brain were part of the Animaniacs but I always thought of them as different which is why we had a hard time determing who belongs to what show - but turns out they all belonged to the same!
I love them all!
What does that mean you say??? Well what it means is that in the very near future I could be in France, for work, eating Camembert so I better know how many points it is!
First things first. Erin, who I love, mentioned to me a new project going on at work in France and that they might be looking for project managers. I followed up on Monday, dropped an email, they got right back to me and THIS VERY MORNING I had two phone interviews with the head honchos over there about a position. Turns out they had JUST hired an external candidate to be a project manager but that they have TONS of work and could use my skills. The contract is huge, the work is very interesting and right up my alley and of course it is IN FRANCE - in NICE no less!. I was upfront with them about how much I use my French today and how I would need an immersion program and then indicated that would be no problem and they could help me with that. They asked me about travel and timeframes and then we all thought it would be best to meet in person and get a better feel for this love fest. We aren't going to meet until next week and that is a good thing because there are lots of things to talk about and lots of questions to formulate.
What do I do about the dog?
What do I do about my house?
How often can I come home?
Where will I live when I am there?
What about Matt and I?
The opportunity is phenomenal and I will be working with high level executives starting on the ground floor of this project. And let me know forget that I can use my French. The year I spent in France was so-so education wise, but the travel and the language skills were priceless. This would allow me to enhance and solidify my skills and then give them practical application in my adult life, something that interests me very much. In addition to the fact that this is just a great opportunity to go out there and grab an opportunity that has been passed to me!
Today has been just crazy - crazy good in lots and lots of ways and I am as usual surprised by the turns my life take and blessed at the same time that all of the opportunities God presents to me. I am feeling very blessed and overwhelmed by the wonderful things that have come into my life in the past three months and a bit undeserving of it... but I hope I can do justice to the gift I have received.
There are alot of people in my life right now who are perfect for me and Erin is one of them! My birthday was in January but she didn't feel like a gift had spoken to her yet, she hadn't found the perfect one, so she didn't rush it and I can appreciate that!
Today at lunch we took a field trip to Abacus in Portland, ME. We had walked by there yesterday but didn't have time to appreciate it fully so today we had the whole hour! In the back of the store is StoryPeople... i can't describe it here just check the site. Erin went NUTS! She loves StoryPeople.. they are her finger puppets - the small gift that Jermaine gave to her when they started dating that meant so much to her. We spent some time looking through them and I found this one - and this one was perfect for me - so she said "THIS IS IT, THIS IS YOUR BIRTHDAY GIFT" and it was a perfect moment! Its perfect on so many levels, its prefect because we found it together, perfect because it was something that was dear to her that she is now sharing with me, and perfect because this saying sums up exactly where my life is in my 35th year.
Thank you Erin - You are perfect for me!
Friday was our One
Month anniversary of dating - C.O.R.N.Y I know but honestly I am enjoying the over the top sappiness right now! And since the first anniversary is paper it gave me a perfect excuse to create an album for M. He went to India for three weeks in November and captured some fantastic shots - I just took them, organized them and had them printed up in a nice hardcover book. I think the hardest part of the job was knowing which ones to include! He had taken 900 and I had to select 200 out of that, not knowing which were the most important to him.
M. came over Friday night with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers! This is where he excels - flowers are something he knows how to pick out and this time my photographs do not do them justice
originally I was posting all the wonderful treats that m. had been bringing me on my work blog... but I think I need to move them over here - keep the worlds separate. Since I think we will be dating for a while I don't want to fill up the business blog with all my giddy craziness over him:)
Thursday night m. came over and I cooked - something I love to do for people. We had Martha Stewart's Mac and Cheese and it filled two purposes. One, I was able to cook a delicious meal for him and two I was able to cook out of the cookbook that Alison gave me for Christmas. When she gave it to me I committed to cooking everything out of the cookbook by the end of 2008 - one down, 284 to go!
Back to m. - he brought me the a gorgeous bouquet of white tulips - they look perfect in my kitchen and I love them!
