Today was the Christmas Pageant at my sisters church so Matt and I went and sat in the balcony, sang some Christmas carols and acted as photography snipers looking for some shots of the event. This year Hailey and Riley were both in it and I think they spent more time chatting with each other than acting Angelic:) Thats the little angels in the center of the stage sitting down listening to the story
This was Riley's first time in anything like this so we got alot of this:
But they both looked super cute...
There are times as a photographer when you know you just got it - that picture that you think sums up the day. After I shot this Matt and I both looked at it and said this was the one. Riley running with her angel wings just summed up the morning.
My friend Erin sent me this link... and then it showed up in one of my design newsletters so I figured it was time for the blog.
Powerful and simple the message about helping and contributing to humanity should be repeated often, until everyone of us is taking some kind of action. Each one of the people who read this blog, who are able to connect to the internet can contribute in some way, no matter how small. And organizations like Kiva allow you to start small and give someone else a hand. Based on the message of this video I think its time we start giving the girls a hand.
Let this video be a wake up call to you, our inboxes are full everyday with powerful messages and videos similar to this one. Let this be the one that shakes you up and causes you to act.
Every year when my mothers sister comes up from CT with her kids and grandkids we take one night and go downtown to the rides. The rides in OOB are filled with people on vacation, tons of kids running and screaming and long lines. I go every year to take pictures. This year Matt went with me so he could experience the full drama of it - and of course we ate every bit of junk food imaginable!
The photographic focus was on the kids. Riley is still to small for most of the big kid rides so we started with the frog hopper. Riley's friend Molly tried to help her up, but since they are both the same size it didn't work - but it was nice she helped
These girls ROCKED frog hopper and all of the ohter kiddy rides, they weren't that scary but made for cute pictures
The hair was all over the place after a few go rounds
Hailey on the other hand could ride the big rides and
She was
super
EXCITED!
Hailey LOVES the rides and rode on everything. She rode the huge swings all by herself, I was a nervous wreck and almost asked them to stop so I could get her off, but she rode it and had a permanent grin on the whole time - she just loved them.
Here she is riding the "roller coaster" - I think she should be hanging on - and why does backlighting vex me so??
My mother and her sister. They are going on a 1 month tour of Ireland this fall. I wonder if they are coming back mainly because I think they will get lost, my mother says she may choose not to come back
There was a slide that Riley loved so much she made my mother go on it with her... good thing my mother is spry - they both seem to love it... strange

I told Erin when I left on Friday that I would blog this weekend - that never happened - I never even got to my computer and I am not going to say it was all good this weekend because it wasn't.... and this weekend left me to think about some stuff that I am still thinking about.
But there was fun to be had! On Saturday night the Walls family +1 came over for a fire and pizza and smores. The
girls and the chaos created by kids stressed Matt out so I am not sure if he had a great time, but we do love a fire and that outdoor fireplace is the best part about that house right now. We had spent the better part of Saturday planting the garden so I was sure to give them all a tour! Here Riley is able to show us how big the garden is:
Hailey brought a friend with her named Meghan and for a while they let me chase them around with a camera taking pictures. I tried to get them to sit on a bale of hay while I shot some but they weren't having it at all.
After a while and a few beers Brian decided it was time to use the chain saw so he climbed into the tree and pulled down some dead branches
Then he wanted the chain saw so I got it for him - this is where Matt really started having a bad time. Once he got the chain saw he cut down the rest that was dead
The girls seemed a bit nervous - mainly because Brian was up in a tree..... here they are huddled by my car
After Brian was done they all had a group hug:
It was all fine and now my tree is all better. It has already starting growing new shoots in the area that is newly exposed from when I had that tree cut down a month ago.
I love nature.
The girls even tried some fancy gymnastics move in celebration.
In other house news I got a new mailbox - so my family can quit nagging me to get one. My old one had a dent in it and was held up by bungie cords - but it worked so who cares!
