I got home last night and there was quite a bit of mail in my mailbox! one of them was a postcard with Prince's symbol on the front and all it said was "you're cute!"
the other was a die cut of the chicago skyline and it say "you're perfect!"
seriously could anyone ask for a better boyfriend?
in funnier notes Jocelyn couldn't get over how all the post card said was "you're perfect" and that made me laugh even harder!
The weather is ridiculously gorgeous so things are really getting busy or the business known as Audralynn!
First off is the house. As you saw in earlier pictures we are about to start the second phase of the renovation. Its going to be busy and we have changed plans so that now one wall is going to be a giant bay window so the scope has increased - well it always does:) I am excited and my dad seems excited and ready to go so all we need now is the dumpster - I think May 2nd or so....
Before that we need to fell a tree that is near the driveway. I got a ridiculously good quote last night and he seems like he can do it on Monday so we might be good to go. It's a simple one tree drop so it will be a piece of cake. After that it's a matter of adding the ice maker to my fridge and we are good to go. The ice maker may seem small but if you want to make ice coffee every morning then ice starts to be more important.
Then there is the garden! Spring came so quickly and so fantastically that I wasn't as ready as I wanted to be. Given the weather we can start planting some things right now. So this week I ordered the following seeds: radish, peas, lettuce, beets, onions and carrots. I tried to order organic or heirloom seeds where I could so we can maintain our commitment to living simply and naturally whenever possible. Hopefully they get here soon! This weekend we need to roto-till the garden and get last years soil ready in addition to roto tilling some of the new areas so we can expand the garden. We have big plans for lots of freezing and canning so we have our veggies all winter long. I can't tell you how thankful I am for Matt this year and how perfect I think we are for each other. I may be wrong but I think both
of us are excited about this work and about having all these veggies all winter long!
We plan to can:
Tomatoes
Pickles
Peppers (roasted and canned?)
We plan to freeze
Peas
Squash
Beans
Pumpkin meat
Parsnip
We plan to store in a root cellar
Beets
Onions
Carrots
Potatoes
Pumpkins
So there is LOTS going on and there will be LOTS of work to do this
summer - and lets not forget the business which needs my attention so
lots lots lots going on!
