Last Sunday was our five month anniversary, Matty wasn't feeling well (I think this is a theme - remember how he was sick at the 1 month?) and I was busy with the renovation so I didn't get a chance to post these until now. I totally was not good at 4 months - it was supposed to be fruit or flowers, I was going to get him some tulip bulbs (but why give a gift you can't enjoy for a year), then an apple tree ( but he beat me too it and gave me pear trees!) so I ended up giving him a pair of Carhartt overalls to help him plant the fruit and flowers - but I felt so lame I didn't even wrap it of photograph it!
But not this month folks - this month it was WOOD and I surprised him with 5 wooden golf tees and a gift card to play golf at Nonesuch - around the corner from my house! He loves golf but hasn't played in years and its something he could do out here in the burbs :)
No fancy tag this month - can I even find my tag maker???? But I did use 5 golf tees as part of the packaging to indicate five months :)
Next month: Iron - I go by this list but I might start going by Wikipedia - except I have already deviated from that list in month four -hmmm all very confusing
matty came home last night from a weekend at his grandparents and went to work planting the pear trees. For those of you still waiting to see what I got him for our 4 month anniversary he is wearing them in this picture! I kinda blew this anniversary. I had ideas on what I wanted to get him and then never got it executed and then he got me these really great pear trees!
So I got him something he has always wanted - a pair of overalls to work in the garden! The way I see it he is using them to plan fruits and flowers!
I think that is sweat rolling down his cheek....
ext month the traditional gift is wood.... I am going to be a bit more prepared for that!
Matt and I are going to celebrate our 4 month anniversary tomorrow (is that it?? it seems longer:) And since he had the day off yesterday he took it upon himself to give me my gift early!
So traditional gifts for 4 year/month is Flowers or Fruit - he gave me fruit!! He gave me 2 pear trees for the farm we are building:) Now I have to admit it took me about 30 minutes to get the full extent of the gift. When I got home last night I saw the trees and when I went up to them I saw this hanging in the tree...
and as I said it was some time later when it dawned on me - he gave me a Partridge in a pear tree! I love you Matty - you are perfect and your gifts are great! I can't wait to walk around the back 40 and decide where we are going to plant these - they are a perfect pear just like us:)
Stay tuned tomorrow for what I am giving him :)
OK - my postings about three months are a little off the hook but this is the last one I promise! I am only posting again because I woke to gifts! HA! Last night Matt cooked dinner and cleaned up the kitchen while I did some photography stuff - then I feel asleep on the couch and he left to go to Soccer. I of course was passed out in bed when he got home - I tried to wake up to talk to him I did because I wanted to see if he liked his gifts but I just couldn't get awake! So this morning at 5:30 I was talking to him about it and from the side of the bed he pulled this gift out for me!! Its an Angela Adams bag!!! I love it and feel like I should have known who she was but this is where Matt educates me. I loved it for the print but researching online this AM I realized I love it because it is made of sustainable materials... ahh a man after my own heart! I can't wait to get into work and show off my bag!
You would think I would have a great Easter post here but I don't... I am very tired - one week ago today I was on a different path than I am on now - I have a big interview tomorrow that could take me to France in very short order! I am overwhelmed by it all so my post today is of the man who has helped me get through this week - Matty has been my rock and he has promised to support me not matter what I decide.. can you really ask for more than that?
I love you matty!
last night we made the long cold trek to the post office after work so Matt could get his mail! he got a package and I figure it was Pottery - the man has an obsession with Blue Hills Pottery But when we got home he let me open it and it was more toys for me!!!!!!! He was busy doing somethign so I unpacked them all and quickly took their picture! There are toys in here from the Animaniacs!!
From wikipedia:
The comedy of Animaniacs was a broad mix of old-fashioned wit, slapstick, pop culture references, and cartoon violence and wackiness. The show featured a number of educational segments that covered subjects such as history, math, geography, science, and social studies. Animaniacs itself was a variety show, with short skits featuring a large cast of characters. While the show had no set format, episode structure varied to suit the needs of the segments included; the majority of episodes were composed of three short mini-episodes, each starring a different set of characters, and bridging segments.
So technically Pinky and the Brain were part of the Animaniacs but I always thought of them as different which is why we had a hard time determing who belongs to what show - but turns out they all belonged to the same!
I love them all!
