I didn't post anything this week, after the large hurdle we got over last weekend with the floor I took some much needed time off this week from things I have to do... but now its time to get serious again.
The house is moving along nicely and the kitchen is put back together. He is now working on the sanding and taping of the living room and we will be ready to paint no later than Sunday the 20th, which means I could be back in the living room, electricity and all by August 1st! I think that was our goal.
While we have been busy in the house Matt has been busy in the garden. Right before I had to send back the fisheye and 100mm lenses (*sniff) I grabbed some shots of what we are growing.
Here is the garden in its entirety - the only thing you can't see is the pumpkins:

This is the whole area of lettuce and peppers, and matt hauling water
We also had squash last night, those plants are growing like crazy and I bet we start having squash a couple of nights a week now
We are also going to have zucchini very very soon
Corn is on its way up but I don't think we have that til August
And the potatoes have flowers and they will die in the fall, that is how we know to dig them up
These are my sunflowers! Thanks to Matt's fence I might actually see them bloom this year!

Tomorrow Matt and I celebrate our 6 month anniversary and the gift this month is IRON!
I GOT THE MOST PERFECTIST GIFT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! I couldn't even photograph it ahead of time because the company it came from had it wrapped so perfectly... but I can tell you it was made in Japan.
Matt loves Japan. I love squares and worms and anything miniature and Matt loves Japan - thats how we do it in this relationship. We don't love the same things but we love each other and that is what counts and what makes it work.
I can't wait to show you what is in the box, but that will have to wait until tomorrow :)
I rented some lenses for the wedding I am shooting this weekend because I want to make sure it ROCKS! They came yesterday and this morning I went out to the garden to try them out.

I rented a Fisheye and now all you fine folk could get a view of the entire garden. Matty is doing such a great job! Those posts you see - those are for the fence Matt is putting up to keep the deer out - maybe I will have sunflowers yet!
I also rented a 100mm Macro lense. It means I can be faraway but still get close up!

Just got out of a meeting with my manager and found this de-lic-i-ous pair of PINK angora socks on my desk! I think matt is sick of my feet being cold :)
these were delivered yeseterday, after a particulary rough weekend reno-wise, relationship-wise, life-wise. they are gorgeous and now my cube smells yummy and people stop by to say hello!

This is a picture take of me, laying down on the living room floor, shooting into the kitchen in the spot where we have already started to take the floor up...
i have detailed for you what you can see. The subfloor that is fine. The hardwood floor, well that is what is laid all over the house and will be sanded down once we can get to it. It will be nice, don't get me wrong, there won't be any thresholds in the house and in a house this size it helps to gain space visually if you have all the same floor. You can also see the top layer of linoleum, laid over the middle layer of linoleum - both of those have to come up. What you don't see is the tile layer - its there in the darkness - between the hardwood floor and the middle layer of linoleum just waiting for get down our hands and knees and tear it up, piece by painful piece as we curse the people who lived there before us and wonder why in the name of molasses would they lay down tile and then TWO layers of linoleum.

In my previous post I mentioned that Matt and I went to Arrows with his Cronies(his friends) on Friday night. We were there to celebrate Burak's birthday!! I was looking for an excuse to wear the black dress I wore to the Christmas party, back when I had a wicked crush on Matt - he had already asked me out so I knew he liked me but I bought the dress to reel the fish in:) I wore it again Friday night and while we were waiting for Burak to get to my house we took some pictures of each other - it was like the PROM!

anything miniature!!! Matty gave these to me Thursday - MINIATURE COLLANDERS!
Matt and I are going to celebrate our 4 month anniversary tomorrow (is that it?? it seems longer:) And since he had the day off yesterday he took it upon himself to give me my gift early!
So traditional gifts for 4 year/month is Flowers or Fruit - he gave me fruit!! He gave me 2 pear trees for the farm we are building:) Now I have to admit it took me about 30 minutes to get the full extent of the gift. When I got home last night I saw the trees and when I went up to them I saw this hanging in the tree...
and as I said it was some time later when it dawned on me - he gave me a Partridge in a pear tree! I love you Matty - you are perfect and your gifts are great! I can't wait to walk around the back 40 and decide where we are going to plant these - they are a perfect pear just like us:)
