I am not kidding you when I say we have been sick for a month... ok not quite yet a month, but this Thursday marks the one month anniversary of when Matt sat across from me at dinner and said "I don't think WE are feeling well". I was feeling just fine but he wasn't his usual chatty self so all of a sudden WE were not feeling well. Sure enough the next day he was sick with the flu - he has been sick for almost four weeks! I thought I had dodged it until 2 Fridays ago when I was feeling not well - I spend the next 5 days in bed and called in sick to work for three days. I am not 100% and if his timeline is correct I will be sick for another three weeks.
Hence the lack of posts..... i am not well. But what we did get in the middle of that month is a break when we felt well enough to go to Morse Mountain and memories of that trip keep me hanging on right now when what I want to do is just lay down and sleep for the next three weeks.
The trip was magical and pefect. It was cold and we were alone and secluded and the cabin was all ours. It had a gorgeous view, a wonderful fireplace and no distractions from the outside world. We stayed right in the main room the entire time, choosing to sleep on the futon to be closer to the fire.
Matt and I shot over 450 images, I put the best 100 in a gallery here for you to view.. and then here are a few more:
Matt did a crossword puzzle while we were there - I tried to help, I swear I did, but I don't have the patience:
He let me put in the last piece and kept saying that "we" did it - which makes him the best boyfriend ever!
There were some great images on the beach that look awesome in black and white.
Here is a view of the main room at the cabin we stayed in. One thing this trip did for me was confirm my hunch that I would like living in a house that has an open space concept. I am trying to achieve that with the house I have right now but the location of the basement and upstairs stairs prevent me from doing it completely.
