I tried to capture some of the boat in black and white but I am not sure it does it justice:
Finding and shooting the boat actually turned out perfect. Later on in the day we stopped by the Gallery of Terrell Lester where I fell in love with this photo:
I borrowed this from his website and it honestly doesn't do it justice - its just beautiful and printed using the Giclee method. Its $1200 and I promised Matt if he ever gave it to me I would paint the entire interior of my house white just to match it (I may live to regret that).
But I am hoping that I can create a nice DIY substitue using the image of the boat. If I add a bit of a glow to it I might just get it close! Its not sitting on the water but I really like a monochromatic image with very little saturation - we will see!
More pictures of Blue Hill to come! Enjoy your weekend!
but I do have a new post up at my photography site...

For all my loyal readers take a stroll on over and check out my latest posts on my business site.. i have some new stuff up and am trying to create a buzzz over there!
Jessica Claire is a photographer I follow out of Southern California - they have an entirely different standard of living out there so her rates are bigger. She is the photographer who created the ShootSac (www.shootsac.com) that camera bag I wanted last year and then received for Christmas. She is definitely a photographer but also a business person and a creative thinker. One of her goals for 2008 was to start another business besides her photography so she created ShootSac. At 4AM she launched her new blog-site (www.jessicaclaire.net) and brand wise its amazing and I love her even more. She got rid of her regular website and her old blog and had this created and designed. Ok, so if you navigate to connect and then click on I'm a Client you will see the screen shot that I attached. She talks about an experience and look at her rates! I love her but in thinking about what I want out of the future that is what I want - not a one stop shop from invites to flowers but a way to create a photography experience, and I think that is best achieved by having multiple products - which is where the renovated farmhouse/business comes in. In any case I have printed this out in color and big and am hanging it at work and at home to remind me every day that that is what I want for myself.
I am also dressed in a suit today - dress for the job you want and I want to be a photographer with a boutique like studio and a high end clientele who comes to me for unique and fabulous products!
ok... i showed some people my logo yesterday and my message architecture and turns out they don't match AND they don't like the logo.
so I sat back down last night to work on a new logo, pulled out my message architecture and turns out that is all wrong for me...
so I started completely over - redid the message architecture last night and turns out that albphotography is modern, premium and relationships-oriented...
so I am pencil sketching some logos, might post up some ideas here but I am going to work through to the illustrations in the next week or so and then do a mini focus group..
branding is so important that I want to get this as right as I can in the beginning so I can make sure that what I am projecting from the start is who I aspire to be.
used to me taking pictures of them but I also think they are a bit over it so I tried
to keep the scope way down - i had three ideas, i dialed it down to two and it was
still CRAZY - Riley said "No way man" to the dress I wanted her to wear, Hailey
liked Riley's dress better and wanted to wear that even though it wasn't her size
and no one would cooperate.... i took just 160 pictures which actually seems
like alot given i only did 2 scenarios... but out of those 160 there are very few
that I can save or are workable... ugh... here are six or so that still needed
to be "edited" to clean them up a bit
I took some pictures of Alison yesterday while we were waiting for the babies to get there. I shot off a quick set of her and then some with her Kitty - I picked the best five and posted them on flickr here
